Laminated Placemats, Wholesale

Placemats take more abuse than any other laminated piece. Hot plates, cutlery drag, wiping down between every cover, and a bus tub at the end of it. Under-spec one and you are reordering in six weeks.

Sizes we run daily

• 11″ x 17″ — the standard American placemat.
• 12″ x 18″ — oversize, common in family and diner formats.
• 10″ x 14″ — compact, for tighter table layouts and cafes.
• Custom — anything up to 27″ wide on our roll laminators, any length.

Specify heavier than you think

10 mil for placemats. This is the one product where we push people up rather than down. A 5 mil placemat curls at the corner after a few weeks of heat and wiping; a 10 mil sheet stays flat on the table for the life of the print run.

Round the corners. Square corners on a placemat are a snag point — they catch on cutlery, lift, then delaminate from the corner inward. Rounding is pennies and it roughly doubles the working life of the piece.

Finish

Matte for anything read at a table under downlights. Gloss if the mat carries food photography or a kids’ activity print where colour punch matters more than glare.

Kids’ menus and activity mats

A laminated activity mat is a placemat that gets crayoned on and wiped clean between every family. Gloss wipes cleaner than matte for crayon and marker, so this is the one placemat application where we recommend gloss.

Wholesale runs from 100 pieces. The value gets substantially better at 500 and 1,000 — most restaurant groups order a year at a time.
